Alabama Crimson Tide vs Clemson Tigers What to Watch:
The Alabama Crimson Tide will play the Clemson Tigers in the Sugar Bowl for the third consecutive time the two teams have faced off in the College Football Playoffs.
Rematching the last two College Football Playoff National Championship games, the Sugar Bowl will be a memorable contest between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers. The Tigers defeated the Crimson Tide in spectacular manner at the end of the previous season, and the series is now tied at one. Alabama was predicted to win two straight after defeating Clemson the previous year, but Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson had the Tide's number for the second consecutive year.
After winning the national championship, Watson gave the keys to Kelly Bryant, and he is no longer playing collegiate football. Bryant has commanded an offense that lost 80% of its output from the previous season, and he has done a fantastic job taking the place of the famous quarterback. Despite playing an Alabama squad eager to prove to the world that they belong in the College Football Playoffs, Clemson enters this game with just one loss on their record.
Despite finishing the season among the nation's top-ranked teams, the Crimson Tide were a contentious choice because they were eliminated from their conference championship game. The roster is undoubtedly talented, though, and head coach Nick Saban would be happy to see the Tigers finish the season, especially after losing to them in the championship game the previous year.
It will still be a must-watch television event even though it is not the national championship game. It should come as no surprise that these two teams would be among the final four teams standing, given they have consistently been at the top of the college football rankings throughout the season. Now that kickoff is almost here, let's review what each team needs to do to win and what we think will happen in the Sugar Bowl.
