Alabama Crimson Tide vs Georgia Bulldogs What to Watch:

There are now odds for the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship game. According to most bookies, the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide started as a four-point favorite over the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs. Hours earlier, the Bulldogs defeated the Oklahoma Sooners 54-48 in the Rose Bowl to avoid a double-overtime battle, while the Tide crushed the Clemson Tigers 24-6 in the Sugar Bowl on Monday night to advance to their third consecutive national title matchup.

Given the very tiny four-point spread to commence betting on the game, oddsmakers anticipate a fiercely contested national championship.

The Tide will be favored for the eleventh time in 113 games since 2010. It's interesting to note that Alabama's only underdog game during this time was against Georgia in 2015, where 'Bama beat Georgia 38–10.

It's likely that the championship will be a defensive, low-scoring contest. Sportsbooks set the over/under for the number of points scored by both teams at 45, which reflects that in the total. It's important to remember that in five of the last six games between Georgia and Alabama, the over has been the right choice. If both offenses perform well, this might happen again.

Long before the final whistle sounds, Georgia may hit for the sixth time in seven meetings with Alabama if they can maintain their heat against an outstanding Alabama defense.

After shutting down their resentful opponent in the Sugar Bowl, the Crimson Tide won't make scoring easy. "After taking a significant lead in the third quarter, Bama tightened its defense to guarantee a spot in the national championship and put an end to any chances of a Clemson comeback. It would be difficult, if not impossible, for their opponent to score more than a few points if they were to replicate that lockdown performance.
