Texas Longhorns vs Alabama Crimson Tide 2010 What to Watch:
The 2010 BCS National Championship Game, also known as the 2010 Citi BCS National Championship Game due to sponsorship, was a college football bowl game between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Texas Longhorns that decided the national champion of the 2009 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association hosted it on January 7, 2010, at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California. It was the 12th BCS National Championship Game, and for the second year in a row, the SEC champion faced the Big 12 Conference champion.
It was the Tournament of Roses' third time hosting the BCS National Championship game in Pasadena and the fifth time in its history that it had staged a matchup between the top two seeds. But this was the first time the game was held at the Tournament of Roses as a stand-alone event from the Rose Bowl Game. Prior to the BCS No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchups in the Rose Bowls in 1969 and 1963, they had hosted BCS Championship games at the Rose Bowls in 2006 and 2002.
