#7 Alabama Crimson Tide vs #11 Tennessee Volunteers What to Watch:

The No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers will meet the No. 7 Alabama Crimson Tide at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville on Saturday in what is known as the "Third Saturday in October" rivalry game. Both teams are 2-1 in SEC play and 5-1 overall. Both programs are still in the running for the College Football Playoff, but the club that loses on Saturday will probably have to win more games in the future to be taken into consideration. Alabama just defeated South Carolina 27–25, while the Vols just defeated Florida 23–17 in overtime. 60-38-8 is Alabama's all-time series lead. Keenan Pili, a linebacker for Tennessee, tore his ACL last week and will miss the entire season.

In Knoxville, kickoff is set at 3:30 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Alabama vs. Tennessee odds, the Crimson Tide are favored by three points.

This matchup has recently been dominated by Alabama. The majority of the Tide's victories over Tennessee have been decisive, as they have won 16 of their last 17 meetings. Last year, Alabama defeated Tuscaloosa 34–20 in the "Third Saturday in October" game.

The Tennessee defense will be under continual pressure from the offensive tandem of wide receiver Ryan Williams and quarterback Jalen Milroe. A candidate for the Heisman Trophy, Milroe has ran for 319 yards and 11 touchdowns and passed for 1,483 yards, 12 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Williams has caught 23 passes for 6 touchdowns and 573 yards.

In terms of both overall offense (484.5 yards per game) and total defense (249.3 yards allowed per game), the Vols are in the upper echelons of the SEC. Tennessee is scoring 42.2 points per game on average while giving up 10.7 points per game. One of the best defensive players in the nation, defensive end James Pearce Jr., comes into this week with 19 total tackles, 2.0 sacks, and a forced fumble.

The top-ranked rushing assault in the SEC drives the Vols' offense. Dylan Sampson, a junior running back, leads the pack with 113 carries, 699 yards, and 15 touchdowns. With 1,219 passing yards, seven touchdown passes, and three interceptions in addition to 135 rushing yards and one touchdown on the ground, quarterback Nico Iamaleava has shown himself to be a potent dual-threat.
