#16 Arizona State Sun Devils vs Arizona Wildcats What to Watch:
In the 98th meeting of the Territorial Cup, the No. 16 Arizona State Sun Devils host their in-state foe, the Arizona Wildcats, in an attempt to guarantee a bid to the Big 12 Championship Game. In Week 13, ASU (9-2) defeated BYU, the former No. 14, 28-23, while Arizona (4-7) fell to TCU, 49-28. The Wildcats have won both of their previous matches, including a resounding 59-23 victory on the road in 2023. In 2024, Arizona is 2-9 ATS while ASU is 9-2 against the spread.
At 3:30 p.m. ET, Arizona Stadium in Tucson will kick underway. According to the most recent ASU vs. Arizona odds, the Sun Devils are 9 points ahead.
Will Arizona have a response for Cam Skattebo, their great running back? In just ten games, the senior has ran for 1,221 yards and 14 touchdowns, while also accumulating 460 yards in receptions and two more scores. The Sun Devils will probably attempt to take advantage of the Wildcats' defense, which is ranked third worst in the Big 12 with an average of 165.7 yards per game on the ground.
Sam Leavitt has been outstanding in his debut season as ASU's starting quarterback, tallying 18 throwing touchdowns and four rushing scores. Jordyn Tyson, who has caught 67 passes for 958 yards and nine touchdowns, is his top receiver.
The Arizona defense, which is missing a number of important players because of injuries, will probably be unable to handle the attacking weaponry of the Sun Devils.
The Wildcats will give All-American wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan plenty of opportunities to catch the ball in his last school game. Four of the junior's 78 receptions for 1,251 yards and seven touchdowns this season were in the team's opening game. McMillan will want for a strong follow-up effort after catching 11 passes for 266 yards and a touchdown against the Sun Devils last season.
Noah Fifita, the quarterback, has only passed for 2,832 yards and scored 17 touchdowns against 12 interceptions this season, making him a letdown. He threw for 527 yards and five touchdowns in the team's 36-point victory over ASU last year. Fifita and McMillan, both former high school teammates, will try to show off on Saturday afternoon in a grudge game with nothing to lose.
