#20 Arizona Wildcats vs #14 Kansas State Wildcats What to Watch:

In what is effectively a Big 12 championship elimination game, the No. 22 Kansas State Wildcats, who are 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the Big 12, will visit the Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday. Arizona State is also 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the conference; both teams are one game behind Colorado in second place and two games behind BYU at the top of the conference.

At Manhattan, Kansas' Bill Snyder Family Stadium, kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Kansas State was considered one of the favorites in the Big 12 after winning 19 games and placing within the final AP Top 25 in each of the previous two seasons.

After a surprising loss to Houston two weeks ago, they are now tied for third place with three games remaining in the season. The good news is that the Wildcats, who defeated Colorado 31-28 in October, have a tiebreaker in hand over second-place Colorado if necessary.

Against Houston, Kansas State was unable to get the ball on the ground, averaging only 2.6 yards per carry and gaining just 89 yards. But this season, the Wildcats have picked up 208.3 rushing yards a game and averaged 5.8 yards per carry. Their 14th-ranked run defense should be ready for the Arizona State rushing onslaught now that they have a week off to correct the mistakes made against the Cougars.

The Sun Devils were predicted to finish last in the preseason Big 12 media poll after going 3-9 in Kenny Dillingham's first season as head coach. However, as shown by their 7-2 record against the spread so far in 2024, Arizona State has been one of the biggest surprises in NCAA football thus far and has continued to defy predictions throughout the season.

Last week against Central Florida, the running game faltered without Cam Skattebo (shoulder), but special teams and an opportunistic defense saved the day. In the 35-31 victory, the Sun Devils forced two failed field goals, won the turnover fight 1-0, and blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown.
