Army Black Knights vs Temple Owls What to Watch:

Thursday night's American Athletic Conference game between the Army Black Knights and Temple Owls at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field pits teams fresh off victories against one another. In Week 4, Temple defeated Rice 37–14, while Army won 45–29. In their debut season in the AAC, the Black Knights (3-0, 2-0 American) have scored 75 more points than their rivals. On the other hand, Temple (1-3, 0-1 American) has a minus-67 point deficit for the season.

At 7:30 p.m. ET, kickoff will take place from Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field. This season, Temple averages 318.5 total yards per game, compared to 429.7 for Army. According to the most recent Army vs. Temple odds, the Black Knights are favored by 12.5 points.


The Black Knights' attack has been carried by senior quarterback Bryson Daily, who has developed into a real dual threat. Daily scored five touchdowns and gained 252 yards in the victory over Rice last week. In addition to completing 6 of 9 passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns, he rushed the ball 23 times for 145 yards and three scores. He has carried a team-high 58 times for 340 yards and five touchdowns this season, and he has passed for 186 yards and three touchdowns.


With 14 stops, including nine solo, junior linebacker Kalib Fortner leads Army in tackles this season. He participated in all 12 games and made nine starts the previous season. 


With 30 solo stops, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble that he recovered for a touchdown, he finished with 68 total tackles. He recorded 10 tackles, including five solo, in the yearly Army-Navy game, one of his best performances. When he stripped the Navy quarterback, snatched the ball, and ran 44 yards for the touchdown, he made the game-winning play and won MVP.

Dante Wright, a senior wide receiver, has developed into a crucial component of the Owls' attack. He is off to an even stronger start in 2024 after collecting 39 passes for 507 yards (13.0 average) and four touchdowns in 2023. 

He has caught 26 passes for 352 yards (13.5 average) and three touchdowns in four games. On September 7, he caught 11 passes for 101 yards (9.2 average) and one touchdown in a 38-11 loss against Navy.

D.J. Woodbury, a senior linebacker, assists in leading the Owls defense. With 38 tackles, including 26 solo, and one sack for 11 yards, he leads the team in tackles. In a 28–20 loss against Coastal Carolina on September 14, he recorded a season-high 15 tackles, 10 of which were solo, along with a sack. He collected 10 tackles, including seven solo, in the victory over Utah State. He has one sack and 91 tackles overall, 49 of which have been solo.
