Auburn Tigers vs Kentucky Wildcats What to Watch:
The Auburn Tigers (2-5) and Kentucky Wildcats (3-4) will both be trying to get back on track when they square off on Saturday night. Auburn has dropped four consecutive games and is still seeking its first SEC win of the season. Kentucky has lost back-to-back games to Vanderbilt and Florida, falling to 14th place in the conference standings. This is the first game between these programs since 2020, when Auburn recorded a 29-13 triumph at home.
Kickoff is planned for 7:45 p.m. ET on Saturday at Kroger Field. According to the most recent Kentucky vs. Auburn odds, Kentucky is favored by 2.5 points.
The Wildcats have had some strong performances this season, but Kentucky is coming off a disappointing game at Florida. They easily covered the spread as 21.5-point underdogs in a 13-12 final in September, taking then-No. 1 Georgia to the very end. Following that, Kentucky defeated Ohio 41-6 then pulled off a huge upset victory as a 17.5-point underdog against Ole Miss, which was ranked sixth at the time.
Head coach Mark Stoops has led Kentucky to eight straight bowl appearances, and he sorely needs a win in this game to keep on pace for another postseason game.
Last week's loss to the Gators was brightened by Barion Brown, who set a new SEC record by scoring his sixth career touchdown on a 99-yard kickoff return. His average kickoff return is 27.9 yards, and Kentucky's defense is ranked 12th in the country for total defense.
After losing its first four SEC games, Auburn is also in desperate straits, but it has been hammering at the door in recent weeks. The Tigers covered the 21-point spread in a loss to Georgia after losing by six points to then-No. 21 Oklahoma at the end of September. Last week, they lost a 21-17 final to then-No. 19 Missouri after allowing a late touchdown drive.
Senior running back Jarquez Hunter had 57 rushing yards, and senior quarterback Payton Thorne completed 17 of 29 throws for 176 yards and a touchdown. With an average of 6.0 yards per carry, Hunter has amassed 585 running yards and three touchdowns, making him Auburn's best offensive player. In their last six encounters with these teams, the Tigers have won five of them, and they have been on a roll toward their first SEC triumph of the year.
