#24 Boston College Eagles vs #6 Missouri Tigers What to Watch:
On Saturday afternoon, the No. 6 Missouri Tigers (2-0) will face the No. 24 Boston College Eagles (2-0) in an attempt to continue their impressive season-opening performance. Missouri has dominated Buffalo and Murray State, holding their first two opponents scoreless this season. Boston College is also off to a great start, defeating Duquesne and Florida State, which was ranked No. 10 at the time. In 2021, the Eagles hosted this game and won 41-34.
In the first two weeks of the season, Missouri has looked worthy, but it hasn't been this high in the AP poll in over ten years. After defeating Murray State 51-0, the Tigers defeated Buffalo 38-0 in the championship game. They are able to rest their starters in the closing minutes because they had amassed 1,007 yards in those two games.
Brady Cook, the quarterback, has rushed for 84 yards and three touchdowns and completed 48 of 67 throws for 456 yards and a touchdown. Even though Luther Burden III, a preseason All-American wide receiver, is having a slow start, he has managed to put together such outstanding numbers.
While Burden was out by sickness against Buffalo, wide receiver Theo Wease Jr. took over, hauling in 13 passes for 149 yards.
For the first time since the 2018 season, Boston College's Eagles are in the top 25 under new head coach Bill O'Brien, who is off to a great start. They defeated Florida State, ranked 10th at the time, 28–13 to start the season, and then they defeated Duquesne 56-0 at home. Thomas Castellanos, a dual-threat quarterback, has run for 81 yards and a touchdown and completed 19 of 26 throws for 340 yards and six touchdowns.
The Eagles' rushing assault, which has amassed 569 yards and five touchdowns in two games, has allowed them to rely significantly on it. With Treshaun Ward, Kye Robichaux, and Turbo Richard all over 100 yards, Boston College's rushing game is well-rounded. In addition to covering the spread in four of their last five games, the Eagles have won eight of their previous eleven games.
