On Thursday night, the Boston College Eagles and Virginia Tech Hokies will play each other. The Eagles undoubtedly hope that this game will proceed differently than the 48–22 victory over Boston College by Virginia Tech last year. The Hokies are 3-1 in their last four home games versus the Eagles, winning by an average of 30.7 points. Virginia Tech has also won three of the previous four encounters between these two teams.

In a 38-34 loss on September 27, the Hokies, who had scored a touchdown in seven of their past eight quarters, came close to defeating No. 7 Miami before giving up the final 14 points in the fourth quarter.
