California Golden Bears vs Florida State Seminoles What to Watch:

The Florida State Seminoles (0-3) will be keen to improve their record against the California Golden Bears (3-0) in an ACC game on Saturday night, since they have been the nation's worst letdown thus far this season. As the favorite to start the season, FSU has lost three straight games, including to Memphis last week, 20–12. Cal defeated San Diego State 31-10 in its most recent game, and it has won two of its first three games by double digits. This is the first time these schools have ever met on the football field.

Kickoff is planned for 7 p.m. ET on Saturday at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium. According to the most recent odds, Florida State is favored by 2.5 points.

After finishing 13-0 in the 2023 regular season, Florida State began the 2024 campaign in the top 10. The Seminoles were whopping 17-point favorites against Boston College two weeks ago, so this is a massive line adjustment. Any lingering affects from their journey to Ireland should be eliminated because they are playing at home for the third consecutive week.

This is a difficult game for the Golden Bears because California is traveling across the nation for their first-ever ACC game. Florida State is 9-2 in its past 11 home games, while they have only won five of their previous 20 away games. This is a sell-high position for California and a buy-low position for Florida State.

With three non-conference wins to begin the season, California is off to a great start in its inaugural ACC season. Two weeks ago, the Golden Bears defeated Auburn as 12-point underdogs, their first road upset. In the victory, Fernando Mendoza, a sophomore quarterback, passed for 233 yards and two touchdowns.

Last week, as 19.5-point favorites, they easily defeated San Diego State 31–10, covering the spread once more. Mendoza completed 21 of 29 throws for 198 yards and two touchdowns in yet another strong showing. Jaivian Thomas, a sophomore running back, helped Cal cover the spread for the fifth time in its previous seven games with a rush of 169 yards on 17 attempts.
