California Golden Bears vs Wake Forest Demon Deacons What to Watch:

A strong receiving corps with eight guys with at least 11 catches, including five with 21 or more, can be spread the ball about by quarterback J.J. McCarthy. Roman Wilson, a senior wide receiver, is in the lead. His 40 receptions for 648 yards (16.2 average) and 11 touchdowns are a team high. He has scored two or more touchdowns in three games, including three on September 2 in a 30-3 victory over East Carolina to start the season. The Iowa secondary, which will face up against the Michigan passing attack, will be without standout cornerback Cooper DeJean (leg).

Jaylen Harrell, a senior defensive end, has been a formidable force on defense. He has forced two fumbles and leads the club with 5.5 sacks for 46 yards.

He leads the team with 26 tackles, 12 of which were solo. He recorded five tackles, three of which were solo, and one sack in the victory over Penn State on November 11. In a 52-7 victory over Indiana on October 14, he recorded two sacks and a forced fumble.

To get this far in the season, the Hawkeyes have mainly relied on their defense. Jay Higgins, a senior linebacker, leads the group with 141 tackles, 60 of which are solo, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. He has three pass breakups, one interception, and one sack for two yards. In eight games, he has recorded double-digit tackles, including a season-high 18—10 of which were solo—during the Sept. 23 loss to No. 7 Penn State.

Nick Jackson, a fifth-year senior linebacker in his first year at the school after four years at Virginia, is also contributing to the defense's strength. With 91 tackles, including 37 solo, and four sacks for 16 yards, he ranks second on the team. He has two forced fumbles and one pass breakup. He has had double-digit stops in two games, including one against Penn State in which he recorded 13 tackles. Check out which team to choose here.
