Clemson Tigers vs Alabama Crimson Tide What to Watch:

Alabama and Clemson will play in the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday night at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, following almost a week of excitement.

This season's top two collegiate football teams are the Crimson Tide and the Tigers, both of which have a wealth of previous history. Alabama and Clemson are participating in the College Football Playoff for the fourth consecutive year.

Over the last three seasons, the two institutions have switched wins. At the end of the 2015 season, Alabama defeated Clemson to claim the national championship. The Tigers then exacted retribution at the end of the 2016 season by defeating the Tide and winning the national championship.

Alabama defeated Clemson in the Sugar Bowl, a CFP semifinal, last season.

Jalen Hurts was still the starting quarterback for Alabama when the Crimson Tide defeated the Tigers the previous season. In the following game, Tua Tagovailoa took his position as the Tide defeated Georgia in overtime to win the College Football Playoff National Championship.

In his first season as a starter, Tagovailoa has passed for 3,671 yards, 41 touchdowns, and four interceptions while leading Alabama to a 14-0 record, the SEC Championship, and an Orange Bowl victory.

He will now play his first game against Clemson, who also comes into the contest with a 14-0 record.

The 20-year-old has more experience competing for national championships than his Clemson opponent, despite just playing the second half and overtime of last season's CFP National Championship.

After the season's first four games, Trevor Lawrence, a true freshman quarterback, assumed the starting position for the Tigers.

Lawrence has led Clemson to the ACC Championship and a Cotton Bowl triumph while passing for 2,933 yards, 27 touchdowns, and four interceptions.

The 19-year-old performed admirably in the Tigers' victory over Notre Dame in the CFP semifinals, but the stakes are higher for this game against Alabama.

Due to their familiarity with one another, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban likened the game to facing a conference opponent because Alabama and Clemson had faced each other in the CFP for four consecutive years.

It will be a close game, just like the previous two meetings between these teams in the College Football Playoff National Championship.

Tagovailoa and the other playmakers for the Crimson Tide will help Alabama's potent offense, which is superior than previous seasons, take the lead early in the second half.

But every year, Alabama is renowned for its outstanding defense. Additionally, the Tide will shut down Lawrence and the Tigers when they need a big stop late to win the game and their second consecutive national championship.
