#15 Clemson Tigers vs Florida State Seminoles What to Watch:
On Saturday night, the No. 15 Clemson Tigers (3-1) will take on the Florida State Seminoles (1-4) in their first real road game of the season. After losing badly to Georgia to start the season, Clemson has bounced back with a three-game winning run. Having lost four of its first five games, Florida State is having a terrible season. Two of those games have been double-digit losses for the Seminoles, including a 42-16 loss at SMU last week.
At Doak Campbell Stadium's Bobby Bowden Field, kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Florida State vs. Clemson odds, Clemson is favored by 14.5 points.
In its last two home games, Florida State has played competitively, defeating California before falling to Memphis by eight points. With senior running back Lawrance Toafili rushing for 80 yards and a touchdown, the Seminoles covered the spread as 2.5-point favorites. Their subsequent game was played on the road against a high-scoring opponent, but they struggled there.
Maybe a new quarterback will give the Seminoles a boost, as quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has been a huge letdown this season. Brock Glenn, a sophomore, is anticipated to start for the first time this season because Uiagalelei is expected to miss several games due to a broken finger on his throwing hand. Ten of Florida State's previous twelve home games have been victories.
After losing badly to Georgia, Clemson has entirely recovered and won three games in a row in a commanding manner. All three of those games, including last week's 40-14 victory against Stanford, saw the Tigers cover the spread. Cade Klubnik, a junior quarterback, finished the game with five touchdowns and 255 throwing yards.
After tossing at least three touchdowns in each of his last three games, he now has 12 passing touchdowns and 984 passing yards. Phil Mafah, a senior running back, has averaged 8.0 yards per carry over 43 carries, totaling 342 rushing yards and two touchdowns. In five of the past six meetings between these two teams, the Tigers have covered the spread, and they have done it in seven of their last nine games.
