In 2024, the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs have an opportunity to become the newest dynasty in contemporary college football by winning another championship. At Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the Bulldogs play the No. 14 Clemson Tigers in the 2024 Aflac Kickoff Game to start the 2024 season. Georgia barely missed out on a three-peat in 2023, having won two of the previous three CFP national titles. The Bulldogs finished with a 13-1 record after losing to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game despite going 12-0 during the regular season. Head coach Kirby Smart has quarterback Carson Beck, a Heisman Trophy contender, and 16 starters return from that squad.
The Tigers finished the 2023 season with a 9-4 overall record after winning five straight games. From an attack that was among the best in the ACC the previous season, Clemson brings back eight starters.
Although most of the attention is focused on Carson Beck, Georgia's defense might be the best in the nation. Security One of the group's leaders, Malaki Starks, was named a consensus All-American in 2023. Mykel Williams, an edge rusher who leads a defensive line full of All-SEC talent, will be a continual challenge to opposing offenses.
