#14 Clemson Tigers vs #1 Georgia Bulldogs What to Watch:

In 2024, the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs have an opportunity to become the newest dynasty in contemporary college football by winning another championship. At Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the Bulldogs play the No. 14 Clemson Tigers in the 2024 Aflac Kickoff Game to start the 2024 season. Georgia barely missed out on a three-peat in 2023, having won two of the previous three CFP national titles. The Bulldogs finished with a 13-1 record after losing to Alabama in the SEC Championship Game despite going 12-0 during the regular season. Head coach Kirby Smart has quarterback Carson Beck, a Heisman Trophy contender, and 16 starters return from that squad.

The Tigers finished the 2023 season with a 9-4 overall record after winning five straight games. From an attack that was among the best in the ACC the previous season, Clemson brings back eight starters.

Although most of the attention is focused on Carson Beck, Georgia's defense might be the best in the nation. Security One of the group's leaders, Malaki Starks, was named a consensus All-American in 2023. Mykel Williams, an edge rusher who leads a defensive line full of All-SEC talent, will be a continual challenge to opposing offenses. It is anticipated that Williams and Starks will both be selected in the early first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The game's location is another element in Georgia's favor. Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, a major hub for Georgia supporters, will host the game. In addition, 16 starters from the Bulldogs' squad from the 2023 SEC Championship Game are returning to the site. Check out which team to choose here.

Eight starters, including quarterback Cade Klubnik, are back for the Tigers from an attack that scored 29.8 points per game on average in 2023. Klubnik completed 63.9% of his passes for 2,844 yards, 19 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in his first full season as a starter for Clemson. In addition, he ran for four touchdowns and 182 yards.

Only two starters from Clemson's 2023 defensively strong squad are back. The talent will be available for this bunch to continue producing at a high level because the Tigers have highly regarded prospects slated to fill a number of roles. Barrett Carter, an All-American linebacker, elected to stay for another season, which was a huge boost for Clemson. As the season begins, Carter is among the nation's leading contenders for the Bednarik Award. According to a CBS/247Sports report, Georgia will be without starting running back Trevor Etienne because of a suspension.
