#20 Clemson Tigers vs Pittsburgh Panthers What to Watch:
On Saturday, the Pittsburgh Panthers (7-2) will play the No. 20 Clemson Tigers (7-2) in an attempt to secure a hallmark victory. After winning seven straight games to start the season, Pitt lost its last two games in a row. Meanwhile, Clemson defeated Virginia Tech 24–14, bouncing back from its defeat at Louisville. The last four matches between these clubs have been divided. Eli Holstein (head) is apparently out for Pitt.
At 12:00 ET, Pittsburgh's Acrisure Stadium will kick off. The most recent Clemson vs. Pittsburgh odds see the Tigers as 12.5-point favorites.
The Tigers have a 7-1 record in their last eight games going into Saturday's matchup. This season, Dabo Swinney's team has been successful because of its effective offense, which averages 37.7 points per game. That is sufficient for 14th place in the country.
Cade Klubnik, an experienced quarterback, is in charge of Clemson. Four interceptions, 24 touchdowns, and 2,275 yards have been thrown by the junior signal caller this season. In six of his last eight games, including the victory over the Hokies last week, he has thrown three or more touchdown passes. Clemson is allowing 22.44 points per game on defense. Last week, the Tigers only allowed Virginia Tech 40 rushing yards and an average of 3.9 yards per play.
After winning seven games in a row to start the season, the Panthers dropped their last two games. Pitt ranks 22nd in college football with an average of 277.1 passing yards per game, making them one of the most effective passing teams in the country. Pitt's top receiver, senior Konata Mumpfield, has 35 grabs for 560 yards and three touchdowns. He is among the five players who have caught at least three touchdown passes and is averaging 16.0 yards per reception.
On defense, the Panthers may also alter the outcome of the game. Pitt is tied for third place in the country with four defensive touchdowns in 2024. The defense forced two interceptions and recorded three sacks in the defeat to Virginia last week.
