Colorado Buffaloes vs Arizona Wildcats What to Watch:
When the Arizona Wildcats visit the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday afternoon, they want to wow a packed House for Homecoming. Last week, No. 14 BYU defeated Arizona (3-3) 41-19, while No. 18 Kansas State defeated Colorado (3-3) 31-28 at home. The Wildcats have defeated the Buffaloes five times in their past seven meetings, including a 34-31 victory on the road in 2023 thanks to a last-second field goal from Tyler Loop. In 2024, Colorado is 4-2 ATS and Arizona is 1-5 against the spread. After missing last week's game due to a shoulder injury, Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter is anticipated to participate. Hunter has the fourth-lowest Heisman Trophy odds (+600) going into the weekend.
At 4 p.m. ET, Arizona Stadium will kick off the game. The most recent Arizona vs. Colorado odds see the Wildcats as 2.5-point favorites.
Due to his consistent production of highlight-reel plays for his team's offense, quarterback Shedeur Sanders is a candidate for the first overall choice in the 2025 NFL Draft. Despite continuing to be sacked frequently (23 times this season following 52 sacks in 2023), the son of coach Deion Sanders has thrown for 2,018 yards and 17 touchdowns this season. If his outstanding play continues, Sanders, who leads the country in passing yards, may be selected for All-America teams.
Hunter should be selected early in the 2025 NFL Draft since he is one of the most exciting players in college football. Opposing teams try to stop Hunter on almost every play as he has 49 receptions for 587 yards and six scores. He has two interceptions, one forced fumble, and sixteen tackles on defense. In what appears to be a high-scoring game, Sanders and Hunter should have a field day against a Wildcats secondary that is lacking important players.
With the 2024 season not going as planned, Arizona is on the verge of losing the support of a fragile fan base, therefore this game is practically a must-win.
After throwing an interception in eight consecutive games, quarterback Noah Fifita is just 1-3 since winning nine consecutive starts in 2023–24. Given that Colorado is only allowing 226 yards of passing per game, he might not have as much success through the air this week either.
Tetairoa McMillan, Fifita's high school teammate, should play a significant role if Arizona's passing attack is to establish a rhythm this week. He has been held scoreless since his season-opening four-touchdown performance, which will probably need to change if Arizona hopes to win. McMillan caught nine catches for 107 yards and a touchdown against the Buffaloes the previous season.
