Colorado Buffaloes vs Colorado State Rams What to Watch:
The 2024 Rocky Mountain Showdown between Colorado State and Colorado is one of the more exciting rivalry games on the Week 3 college football season. Deion Sanders' arrival at Colorado last year greatly increased the intensity of this rivalry. On September 16, 2023, these teams faced off, and Colorado won 43-35 in double overtime, one of the season's most watched games. Both teams have a 1-1 record this season and will be hoping for a significant victory to qualify for the bowl.
CBS and Paramount+ will kick off in Fort Collins at 7:30 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Colorado vs. Colorado State odds, the Buffalos are 7.5-point favorites.
In this rivalry game, Travis Hunter will be the best player on the field. The Rams secondary will find it extremely challenging to contain the two-way standout, who can influence the game on both sides of the ball. Hunter has 17 receptions for 242 yards and three touchdowns going into Saturday.
Shedeur Sanders, a quarterback, is probably going to be selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Sanders has demonstrated exceptional pocket awareness and the capacity to dissect defenses when the Buffs have shielded him.
He led the Buffs on a 98-yard game-tying drive in the last two minutes of the fourth quarter and threw for 348 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in Colorado's 2023 double overtime victory over CSU.
Home-field advantage is in the Rams' favor. This will be the first Rocky Mountain Showdown to be played in Fort Collins since 1996, and it's the largest game in Canvas Stadium's short existence. The Rams were 28-point underdogs in 2023, and they came very close to winning at Folsom Field.
Justin Marshall, a freshman at Colorado State University, is a budding star at running back. Marshall ran for 106 yards on 25 carries during the Rams' season-opening loss against Texas, ranked second. He has accumulated 173 yards on 35 carries this season (4.9 yards per carry), and the Buffs have struggled to stop the run, giving up 153 running yards per game thus far.
