East Carolina Pirates vs #23 Army Black Knights What to Watch:

On Saturday afternoon, the No. 23 Army Black Knights (6-0) will visit the East Carolina Pirates (3-3) in an AAC game in an attempt to stay undefeated. Army defeated UAB 44-10 last week, and they have won all six of their games by a margin of at least 17. In two weeks, the Black Knights will play their rivalry game versus Air Force to wrap up a three-game homestand. In its most recent game, East Carolina lost to Charlotte 55-24, and it has now lost three of its previous four games.

On Saturday, Blaik Field at Michie Stadium will kick off at 12:00 ET. According to the most recent Army vs. East Carolina odds, Army is favored by 17 points.

This season, no one has been able to stop Army's triple-option offense, which is averaging 6.9 yards per carry and winning games by an average of 29.8 points. With a team-high 738 running yards and 14 rushing touchdowns on 107 runs, senior quarterback Bryson Daily leads them. With 54.1% of his throws completed for 482 yards, six touchdowns, and zero interceptions, he is also giving Army's run-heavy attack a rare passing option.

Junior running back Noah Short has 397 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while sophomore running back Kanye Udoh has 531 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Army's defense, which is rated ninth in the country with 267.3 yards per game allowed, is very strong.

East Carolina is 2-7 in its last nine away games, while the Black Knights have covered the spread in eight straight games since the previous season.

With the Pirates allowing the second-fewest yards per rush (3.5) of any team in the nation, East Carolina is ideally positioned to shut down this Army offense. Due to a bye, they had an extra week to get ready for the triple-option, which is a significant advantage in this specific matchup. Miami transfer Jake Garcia was benched before halftime in a defeat to Charlotte two weeks ago, thus head coach Mike Houston has not yet announced his starting quarterback.

Katin Houser, a transfer from Michigan State, took over and completed 11 of 28 passes for 84 yards and an intercepted pass. Before the game begins, Houston should be secure in his selection because he had two weeks to assess both quarterbacks. In the last six encounters, East Carolina has covered the spread at a 4-1-1 rate and won eight straight games versus Army.
