East Carolina Pirates vs Tulsa Golden Hurricane What to Watch:
Thursday's conference's only college football game of the day will put the AAC front and center. The East Carolina Pirates will play the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, who are looking to win five straight games. After losing badly against UAB 59-21, the Golden Hurricane are 1-3 on the season and 1-4 in league play. East Carolina is 3-2 in the AAC and 5-4 overall as it looks to win three in a row following the dismissal of head coach Mike Houston.
Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium in Tulsa will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET. Okla. According to the most recent Tulsa vs. East Carolina odds, East Carolina is favored by 15.5 points.
Even though Tulsa lost to UAB 59-21 on Saturday, the squad managed to get back on the field with 187 running yards, more than they had in their two prior games combined. Four players, lead by Bill Jackson (296 yards), have accumulated at least 205 yards on the ground this season, demonstrating the Golden Hurricane's multifaceted running offense. In last year's victory over ECU, he hit the endzone and is averaging 5.3 yards per run.
One of the AAC's most effective receivers, Kamdyn Benjamin leads the conference in receptions (55), ranks third in yards (683), and comes in fourth in touchdowns (5).
In addition, he scored a touchdown on a punt return this season and dominated the Pirates in his most recent game, recording a 6-143-1 stat line in 2023. Tulsa can also find solace in the fact that East Carolina has only covered once in their four away games this season.
In the meantime, East Carolina defeated FAU 49–14 last Thursday after playing all four quarters. ECU's one-man wrecking squad was Katin Houser, who punched in a touchdown on the run and threw for 343 yards and five touchdowns. While ECU averaged a strong 10.4 yards per play, the Pirates amassed 581 total yards, a season-high.
Tulsa's poor performance as a home underdog is the first of many spread advantages ECU has over its opponent on Thursday. Tulsa has lost four of its past five games overall, and the Golden Hurricane have only covered once in their last eight games as a home underdog.
