#10 Florida State Seminoles vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets What to Watch:

In Dublin, Ireland, the 2024 college football season begins as No. 10 Georgia Tech is 10.5 points up of Florida State in Saturday's 2024 Aer Lingus College Football Classic. The Yellow Jackets had covered in the previous seven meetings against the Seminoles, but FSU narrowly prevailed in their most recent encounter in 2022, winning by 25 points as 23.5-point favorites.

The defense is well-positioned to contain Georgia Tech's offense, even though the offense is replacing a lot of production. Against opponents ranked in the top ten, GT's offense has found it difficult to get going, scoring 14 points or less in nine of the last ten games.

Georgia Tech was third in the country in terms of running yards allowed per game, while they topped the ACC in rushing yards per game the previous season. After losing its primary quarterback and three of its top pass-catchers from the previous campaign, FSU should rely on its own running game because it is well aware of its opponents' difficulties.

Under head coach Brent Key, the Yellow Jackets have a number of playmakers returning for the 2024 campaign. Key, who is entering his second season as head coach full-time, achieved a winning record in 2023 (7–6). Georgia Tech has a dual-threat weapon in junior quarterback Haynes King. King is excellent at putting the ball in the hands of the most effective offensive players.

Over his career, which includes three seasons at Texas A&M, King has amassed 4,421 passing yards, 887 running yards, and 48 total touchdowns. Both junior wide receiver Malik Rutherford and sophomore wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. recorded more than 500 receiving yards in the previous campaign. Last season, Singleton Jr. caught 48 passes for 714 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Rutherford, meanwhile, caught 46 passes for 504 yards and four scores.
