#23 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs Syracuse Orange What to Watch:

On Saturday afternoon, No. 23 Georgia Tech (2-0) will travel to Syracuse for an ACC matchup, marking the team's first real road trip of the season. The Yellow Jackets defeated Georgia State 35–12 last week to support their neutral-site victory over No. 10 Florida State in Ireland to start the season. Syracuse just defeated Ohio 38–22, but a late Bobcats touchdown prevented them from covering the 17-point spread. In their meeting previous season, Georgia Tech defeated Syracuse 31–22 at home.

Fran Brown, the team's first-year coach, guided Syracuse to a 38–22 victory over Ohio last weekend.

Transfer from Ohio State In his first game with the Orange, Kyle McCord completed 27 of 39 passes for 354 yards and four touchdowns. Oronde Gadsden II caught seven passes for 108 yards and a touchdown after McCord completed passes to eight different wide receivers.

Having thrown for 3,170 yards and 24 touchdowns the previous season, the former Buckeye is a highly rated quarterback. LeQuint Allen, a running back, also had a great first week, gaining 24 receiving yards and rushing for 98 yards. Syracuse has a 10-4 record in its past 14 home games and a 10-1 record in its previous 11 September games.

Georgia Tech began the season with an unexpected victory over then-No. 10 Florida State in Dublin, making it one of the few teams in the nation with two victories already. In that game, the Yellow Jackets were 10.5 points behind, but running back Jamal Haynes helped pull off the upset by rushing for 75 yards and two touchdowns. In a 35–12 victory over Georgia State last season, he ran for 84 yards and a touchdown, demonstrating his efficiency once more.

Haynes King, a junior quarterback, ran for 27 yards and another touchdown while completing 24 of 29 throws for 275 yards and two touchdowns. Malik Rutherford, a junior wide receiver, averaged 18.7 yards per reception while catching seven catches for 131 yards and a touchdown. Since last season, the Yellow Jackets have covered the spread five times in a row, while the Orange have only done it twice in their last ten games.
