Indiana Hoosiers vs Ohio State Buckeyes What to Watch:
When the No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers (10-0) visit the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes (9-1) on Saturday afternoon, they will be up against their toughest opponent of the year. Before receiving a bye last week, Indiana defeated Michigan 20–15 two weeks ago to maintain their undefeated record. Ohio State, which is still behind Oregon at the top of the polls, defeated Northwestern 31–7 last week to extend their winning streak to four games. Ohio State has defeated the Hoosiers in 21 consecutive meetings, and this is the first time this season that the Hoosiers have faced a ranked opponent. Due to an injury sustained during practice, Ohio State's standout center Seth McLaughlin (Achilles) will miss the rest of the season.
Ohio Stadium will kick off on Saturday at 12:00 ET. The most recent Ohio State vs. Indiana odds show that Ohio State is currently favored by 10.5 points after beginning at -13.5.
After losing to Oregon and narrowly defeating Nebraska, Ohio State has bounced back with three straight strong performances. Before thrashing Purdue and Northwestern, the Buckeyes defeated then-No. 3 Penn State on the road at the start of the month. Junior running back Quinshon Judkins had 76 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Wildcats, while senior quarterback Will Howard completed 15 of 24 throws for 247 yards and two touchdowns.
The Buckeyes boast the nation's top scoring defense (10.3) and the eighth-best scoring offense in college football (37.8 points per game). They have won 21 games in a row versus Indiana, and they have covered the spread in eight of their last 11 games. Ohio State has demonstrated its ability to cover large spreads and is currently riding a 12-game home winning streak.
During their 21-game losing streak versus Ohio State, Indiana has not concluded a season with a record higher than 8-5, so this year's squad is obviously different.
The Hoosiers' defense, which allows 15 points per game, is not far behind the Buckeyes', and their offense is third in the country (40.2). While Ohio State had to play a special game at Wrigley Field, they had an extra week to get ready for this match.
This season, senior quarterback Kurtis Rourke has led Indiana with 2,410 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and just four interceptions. Justice Ellison (686) and Ty Son Lawton (508) are two more running backs for the Hoosiers who have accumulated more than 500 rushing yards. The Hoosiers have covered the spread in nine of their last 13 meetings, despite Ohio State controlling the series.
