#17 Kansas State Wildcats vs Tulane Green Wave What to Watch:
17th When Kansas State visits Tulane on Saturday afternoon, it will be put to the test early. Last week, the Wildcats defeated UT Martin 41-6 to start the season. Next week, they will play No. 20 Arizona in the Big 12. With a 52-0 victory over Southeastern Louisiana to start the season, Tulane set the stage for consecutive meetings with ranked teams. In their 2022 meeting, the Green Wave defeated Kansas State 17–10 as 13.5-point road underdogs.
Last Thursday, Tulane put itself on the board against SE Louisiana, but SE Louisiana never did the same. At home, the Green Wave won by an overwhelming 52-0 margin.
They scored a touchdown on each of their seven trips to the red zone, demonstrating their ability to finish drives with ease.
Leading his team to victory, quarterback Darian Mensah looked fantastic as he completed 83.3% of his passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns. Ty Thompson, who rushed for 23 yards and two scores, was another guy who made an impact. Since the previous season, Tulane has gone 11-2 in its last 13 games, and Kansas State has only twice covered the spread in its last nine games versus AAC opponents.
Last Saturday, Kansas State defeated UT Martin 41-6 at home. Dylan Edwards, who rushed for 43 yards and a touchdown while also collecting a touchdown, was likely the player that performed the best, although several others also contributed to Kansas State's triumph.
Another important back was DJ Giddens, who gained 124 yards in 13 carries. Given the score, it should come as no surprise that Kansas State gained and held onto momentum, completing the game with eight yards per play. They haven't recorded that many yards per play in a game since September 2023.
