#19 Kansas Jayhawks vs Illinois Fighting Illini What to Watch:

On Saturday, Kansas travels to Illinois for an exciting game that pits two strong conferences against one another. After outscoring their opponents 93-3 in Week 1, the Jayhawks and the Illini are both feeling great.

Kansas defeated Lindenwood of the FCS in the first game of the 2024 season, dominating the game for all four quarters and winning 48-3 at home. With a total of 331 running yards, the Jayhawks completed the task at hand. Devin Neal, a running back, led the way with 112 yards and a touchdown.

Conversely, Kansas limited Lindenwood's offensive output to a meager 202 yards.

In the meantime, Illinois defeated Eastern Illinois, another FCS program, 45-0, to earn its first victory of the season. The Fighting Illini's ability to complete drives was a major factor in the victory; in all five of their trips to the red zone, they scored a touchdown. In the season opener, Illinois quarterback Luke Altmeyer threw for four touchdowns as the Illini defense held the Panthers to less than 200 offensive yards.

Illinois will attempt to exact some retribution for its 34-23 loss to Kansas the previous season. In order to advance to a bowl game for the third consecutive year, the Jayhawks are hoping for another strong showing this year.
