Kansas Jayhawks vs #16 Kansas State Wildcats What to Watch:

Resuming their 1902 rivalry, the Kansas Jayhawks and the No. 16 Kansas State Wildcats will play each other in a Big 12 matchup on Saturday. KSU has won 15 consecutive games in this series, which is referred to as the Sunflower Showdown. The Wildcats (6-1, 3-1) have won their last three games this season, including a 45-18 thumping of West Virginia last week. Kansas (2-5, 1-3) defeated Houston 42-14 last Saturday to snap a five-game losing streak.

The 2024 Sunflower Showdown, where the Wildcats are 3-0 this season, will begin at 8 p.m. ET at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas. According to the most recent Kansas State vs. Kansas odds, KSU is favored by 9.5 points.

After suffering five straight losses, Kansas finally overcame Houston on Saturday, winning 42–14 despite the Jayhawks scoring a touchdown on each of their five visits to the red zone. Jalon Daniels was an incredible quarterback who completed 76.2% of his passes for 247 yards and three touchdowns. Daniels also punched in a touchdown on the run. Kansas' defense intercepted four passes.

With no giveaways in their last two games, the Jayhawks have now forced 11 turnovers in their last four games. Daniel Hishaw Jr. is third in the conference with 6.4 yards per carry, and Devin Neal is sixth in the Big 12 with 692 running yards, giving KU a one-two punch in the backfield. With four picks this season, Cobee Bryant, who had three of the four interceptions last week, is now ranked second in the FBS.

KSU, meanwhile, just crushed West Virginia 45-18, setting a season-high in points. Avery Johnson, the quarterback, tied a career best with three passing touchdowns and established a new one with 298 passing yards.

DJ Giddens, a running back, contributed to the offensive tempo with 110 total yards and two touchdowns. He is now sixth in the country in yards from scrimmage (1,025) and ninth in the NCAA in rushing yards (843).

K-State is the favorite in this, their 15th consecutive meeting, and they are 14-0 straight-up and 10-4 against the spread (ATS) in those meetings. With an 8-1 record both straight-up and ATS over their previous nine games in Manhattan, the Wildcats have also dominated recent home matches against any FBS opponents. On the road this season, the Jayhawks are 0-3 ATS.
