Kentucky Wildcats vs #7 Tennessee Volunteers What to Watch:

The No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers (6-1) will begin their four-game homestand when they face the Kentucky Wildcats (3-5) on Saturday night. Tennessee opened the homestand with wins over Florida and then-No. 7 Alabama before getting a bye last week. After falling to Auburn 24-10, Kentucky has now lost three straight games, endangering its chances of making the playoffs. In their last 14 meetings in Knoxville, Tennessee has prevailed 13 times.

Kickoff is planned for 7:45 p.m. ET on Saturday at Neyland Stadium. According to the most recent Tennessee vs. Kentucky odds, Tennessee is ahead by 17.5 points.

In early October, Tennessee, a 14-point road favorite, lost to Arkansas; nevertheless, it has since defeated Florida and Alabama in rivalry games. Two weeks ago, the Vols defeated the Crimson Tide as 3.5-point home underdogs, led by running back Dylan Sampson, who recorded 139 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Sampson has amassed 840 yards and 17 touchdowns, making him one of the best performers in college football at his position.

This season, Sampson has rushed for more over 90 yards in each game, relieving some of the strain on redshirt freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava. In terms of total defense (259 yards per game) and points allowed per game (11.6), the Vols' defense is ranked third in the country.

In the last 39 matches between these clubs, they have won 36 of them, including a 38-point victory at home two years ago.

After a recent three-game losing streak, Kentucky is urgently trying to turn their season around. The Wildcats almost upset then-No. 1 Georgia in September before pulling off a huge upset against then-No. 6 Ole Miss, demonstrating their ability to play with the best teams in the SEC. In the game, junior quarterback Brock Vandagriff had 243 passing yards and a touchdown despite being a 17.5-point underdog.

Against Georgia and Ole Miss, Vandagriff did not throw an interception, and a clean performance on Saturday will help Kentucky stay in the game. The Vols haven't won by this kind of margin since the beginning of the season, and Tennessee's victory over Alabama followed victories in overtime over Florida and an outright loss to Arkansas. Kentucky has covered in eight of its previous 12 away games, although they have only covered the spread five times in their last 15 November games.
