Miami (OH) RedHawks vs #17 Notre Dame Fighting Irish What to Watch:

When No. 17 Notre Dame (2-1) hosts Miami (OH) (0-2) on Saturday afternoon, it will look to build on its season-best showing. Last week, the Fighting Irish defeated Purdue 66-7, bouncing back from their stunning defeat to Northern Illinois. They jumped out to a 42-0 advantage at halftime despite just being 7.5 points ahead. After losing to Cincinnati and Northwestern, Miami is preparing for its third straight game as an underdog.

Notre Dame Stadium will host the game on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The most recent Notre Dame vs. Miami (OH) odds have Notre Dame as the favorite by 27.5 points.

A 16–14 setback to Northern Illinois two weeks ago hurt Notre Dame's chances of making the College Football Playoffs, but the school recovered with a fantastic game against Purdue. With 362 running yards, the Fighting Irish gave Purdue its most crushing defeat in school history. Before their starters took a break in the second half, they had 278 of those yards in the first two quarters.

Running back Jeremiyah Love recorded 11 carries for a career-high 109 yards, which was Notre Dame's greatest point total since a 66-14 victory over New Mexico in 2019.

Riley Leonard, the quarterback, passed for 112 yards and added 100 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Since the end of the previous season, the Fighting Irish have now won five of their last six games where they covered the spread.

Even if Notre Dame played outstanding last week, its terrible showing against Northern Illinois two weeks ago will never be forgotten. That contest was comparable to this one in that the Fighting Irish were 28-point favorites. As the top Group of Five school going into the season, Miami had hopes of making the College Football Playoffs, but so far, it has failed to meet expectations.

Last week, the RedHawks fell to Cincinnati by 11 points after losing to Northwestern by a touchdown. Senior quarterback Brett Gabbert, who has thrown for 566 yards and two touchdowns, is their leader. Miami has covered the spread in 11 of its previous 15 games, including four of its last five in September.
