#6 Miami Hurricanes vs Syracuse Orange What to Watch:
When the No. 6 Miami (FL) Hurricanes (10-1) play the Syracuse Orange (8-3) on Saturday afternoon, they have the opportunity to secure a berth in the ACC championship game. Miami reached the 10-win mark in a season for the first time since 2017 last week, defeating Georgia Tech 42-14 to stay on track for a College Football Playoff spot. After defeating UConn 31–24 last week, Syracuse is now on a two-game winning run. This is the first time these clubs have faced one other since Miami won 27–19 at home in 2017.
At JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York, kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Syracuse vs. Miami odds, the Canes are favored by 11.5 points.
Syracuse has defeated UConn and California back-to-back in three of its previous four games. With quarterback Kyle McCord completing 29 of 46 passes for 323 yards and a touchdown, the Orange defeated the Golden Bears despite being 10.5-point road underdogs. LeQuint Allen, a junior running back, averaged 4.7 yards per carry for 109 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Last week, the Orange defeated UConn 31–24. McCord led the team to their first eight-win regular season in six years with a career-high 470 yards and two touchdowns. Senior wideout Jackson Meeks contributed seven catches for 110 yards, while sophomore wide receiver Darrell Gill Jr. had nine catches for 177 yards.
Syracuse has an 8-1 record in its past nine Saturday games and a 6-1 record in its last seven home games.
With a victory on Saturday, Miami can accomplish two significant goals: it will increase its chances of making the College Football Playoffs and secure a position in the ACC championship game. Last week, the Hurricanes defeated Wake Forest 42-14, bouncing back from their defeat at Georgia Tech. Jordan Lyle, a rookie running back, had 115 rushing yards and a touchdown, while senior quarterback Cam Ward completed 27 of 38 throws for 280 yards and two touchdowns.
With 3,774 yards and 34 passing touchdowns this season, in addition to 177 rushing yards and four more touchdowns, Ward is a strong candidate for the Heisman Trophy. He is in charge of Miami's offense, which averages 44.7 points and 541.5 yards per week. In their last six meetings with Syracuse, the Hurricanes are 6-0 up straight and 4-2 against the spread.
