Nebraska Cornhuskers vs #4 Ohio State Buckeyes What to Watch:
On Saturday afternoon, the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes (5-1) will visit the Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-2) in an attempt to get back on track. Two weeks ago, Ohio State lost to then-No. 3 Oregon in one of the season's most exciting games after winning its first five games. previous week, Nebraska lost a 56-7 final against then-No. 16 Indiana, and has now dropped two of its previous four games. The Buckeyes have defeated Nebraska seven times in a row, most recently defeating the Cornhuskers 26–17 in 2021. Notable players named as unavailable on the availability report include Nebraska running back Rahmir Johnson and Ohio State safety Lathan Ransom.
At Ohio Stadium in Columbus, kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 ET. According to SportsLine consensus, the Buckeyes are 25.5-point favorites in the most recent Ohio State vs. Nebraska odds.
Despite its close defeat to Oregon two weeks ago, Ohio State still has control over its own fate in terms of a berth in the new 12-team College Football Playoff. After that defeat, the Buckeyes had a bye week to regroup, and they have already won five of their games this season by a margin of at least 28 points. After finishing with a season-high 326 yards versus Oregon, senior quarterback Will Howard leads the dynamic offense with 1,574 yards and 14 touchdowns.
With a combined total of over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns, Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka are two of the best wide receivers in the nation at his disposal. TreVeyon Henderson (424 yards) and Quinshon Judkins (491 rushing yards) balance Ohio State's devastating onslaught. This head-to-head series has been dominated by the Buckeyes, who have won seven in a row and covered the spread in six of the previous eight games.
This is a good time to buy because Nebraska just finished with their worst performance of the season. The Cornhuskers defeated Purdue and Colorado handily in five of their first six games this season. They have been a competitive squad; their only other defeat came in OT against Illinois, who were ranked No. 24 at the time.
While sophomore running back Dante Dowdell has 350 yards and five touchdowns, rookie quarterback Dylan Raiola has completed 66% of his passes for 1,579 yards and nine touchdowns. After losing to Oregon, Ohio State is feeling disappointed, especially considering that they would be visiting No. 3 Penn State the following week. When these teams faced each other last season, the Cornhuskers were 14-point home underdogs, and they covered the spread.
