Nebraska Cornhuskers vs USC Trojans What to Watch:

The Week 12 college football schedule features a Big Ten matchup between the USC Trojans and the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday. Nebraska is 5-4 overall and 1-2 away from home, while USC is 4-5 overall and 3-1 at home. The Trojans have a perfect 4-0-1 record in the rivalry, and their most recent meeting took place in the 2014 Holiday Bowl, when USC won 45-42. In the 2024 college football season, the Cornhuskers are 5-3 against the line and the Trojans are 5-4 against the spread (ATS).

United Airlines Field at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will kick off the game at 4 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Nebraska vs. USC odds, the Trojans are favored by 7.5 points.

Before its bye, Nebraska lost 27–20 at UCLA, although running back Dante Dowdell scored eight points this season with two additional touchdowns. He should be a weapon under new offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen, who was recently named the new playcaller on Monday, since he has scored five touchdowns in his last five games. Holgorsen will get the most out of the Trojans on that side of the ball since he designed high-octane offenses at West Virginia and Texas Tech.

With a scoring defense ranking of 21st in the country, the Cornhuskers are already a top defensive team. With the exception of one game, Nebraska has shut down opponent run games and is ranked 13th in run defense and 15th in total defense.

Nebraska hasn't given up a running touchdown this season, with the exception of its defeat to Indiana. USC, which already has issues with the air and recently benched starting quarterback Miller Moss, might have issues as a result.

In the meantime, USC lost 26–21 to Washington last Saturday despite being within striking distance. Zachariah Branch had 102 receiving yards while Woody Marks ran for 123 yards and a touchdown, giving USC an outstanding showing despite the loss. In favor of four-star transfer Jayden Maiava, who finished 7-4 as a starter for UNLV and led the Mountain West in passer rating in 2023, Moss, who threw two touchdowns but three interceptions, was benched.

In front of their home fans, the Trojans perform noticeably better, as USC is averaging 39.5 points at home as opposed to just 22.5 points away from home. At the L.A. Coliseum, USC has a perfect 4-0 ATS record as well. With five wins so far this season, Nebraska is just one win away from bowl eligibility, but the Cornhuskers have never fared well when a postseason game is within reach. Under coach Matt Rhule, Nebraska has a 0–7 record overall, and bowl eligibility is at stake.
