#2 Ohio State Buckeyes vs Northwestern Wildcats What to Watch:

The game between the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes (8-1) and the Northwestern Wildcats (4-5) at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Saturday afternoon will take place in an unusual atmosphere. After defeating Purdue 45-0 last week, Ohio State is now one position behind Oregon at the top of the College Football Playoff standings. After defeating the Boilermakers 26–20 in overtime two weeks ago, Northwestern was given a bye last week. This will be Ohio State's first game at the famous Chicago Cubs home field, where the Wildcats have played three games since 2010.

Wrigley Field will go off on Saturday at 12:00 ET. According to the most recent Northwestern vs. Ohio State odds, the Buckeyes are 28 points ahead.

Given that the Wildcats had to play double overtime in their victory over Purdue two weeks prior, Northwestern sorely needed an additional week to recuperate and get ready for this Ohio State squad. In that triumph, sophomore quarterback Jack Lausch completed 23 of 35 passes for 250 yards and a score, ending a two-game losing run. With 78 yards and a touchdown on only six runs, sophomore running back Joseph Himon II spearheaded the rushing attack.

The Wildcats have an advantage in experience because they played here last year and haven't played at home since October 19. After their victory over Purdue in November, they have also covered the spread in five straight games.

This is a look-ahead spot for the Buckeyes, as Ohio State faces a big game against No. 5 Indiana the following week.

After defeating then-No. 3 Penn State 20–13 in a game that had playoff implications, Ohio State has put together two strong performances in the past two weeks. Quinshon Judkins, a junior running back, contributed 95 rushing yards, and senior quarterback Will Howard produced 182 passing yards and two touchdowns. With just five interceptions, 2,237 yards, and 22 touchdowns, Howard is having a tremendous season.

TreVeyon Henderson, a senior, has 588 rushing yards and five touchdowns, while Judkins leads the rushing assault with 647 yards and six. In the decisive victory over Purdue last week, wide receiver Jeremiah Smith scored his ninth touchdown of the season, shattering Ohio State's rookie receiving record. In four of their last six games this season, the Buckeyes have covered the spread, and they have done it in seven of the last ten meetings between these two teams.
