#4 Ohio State Buckeyes vs #3 Penn State Nittany Lions What to Watch:

When the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes (6-1, 3-1) travel to Happy Valley to play the No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions (7-0, 4-0) at Beaver Stadium on Saturday, they hope to strengthen their resume for the College Football Playoffs. Last week, the Buckeyes defeated Nebraska 21–17, overcoming their first loss of the season. In 2024, Penn State has dominated, winning most of its games by a landslide. The Nittany Lions defeated Wisconsin 28–13 on the road in their most recent game. Ohio State leads the all-time series 24-14, and both teams are 3-4 against the spread. Drew Allar (leg) of Penn State is anticipated to play because his availability report does not list him as questionable or out.

On the defensive end of the ball, Ohio State is led by defensive tackle Tyleik Williams and safety Caleb Downs, who is a transfer from Alabama and is an All-America candidate and may be the best safety in college football. The Buckeyes are loaded at wide receiver, with freshman Jeremiah Smith leading the team with 623 yards and eight touchdowns and senior Emeka Egbuka leading the team in receptions (43) in addition to 546 yards and six touchdowns. As has become the norm, Ohio State is once again armed with elite talent and future NFL Draft picks. The two will maintain constant pressure on Penn State's secondary.

This season, Penn State has been among the nation's most dominant teams. The Nittany Lions stand close to the top of the Big Ten in both offense and defense, and five of their seven victories have been by double digits. Penn State is rated second in the conference in terms of points allowed per game (14.3) and fourth in terms of points scored per game (33.3) going into this game.

No matter Allar's status, Penn State should be able to stay up with the Buckeyes because to their arsenal of offensive weapons. Tyler Warren, the team's top tight end, with 47 receptions for 559 yards and four touchdowns. The Nittany Lions have a strong 1-2 punch out of the backfield thanks to running backs Nicholas Singleton (483 yards, three touchdowns) and Kaytron Allen (509 yards, four touchdowns).
