#20 Oklahoma State Cowboys vs #23 Kansas State Wildcats What to Watch:

The No. 20 Oklahoma State Cowboys (3-1) will play their first Big 12 game of the season when they face the No. 23 Kansas State Wildcats (3-1) on Saturday afternoon. Both teams are coming off their first loss of the season, as Oklahoma State fell to then-No. 12 Utah while Kansas State was blown out at BYU. This is a pivotal game for the Big 12 standings and the College Football Playoff race for both teams, as a loss would do serious damage to those aspirations. The Cowboys pulled off a big upset over the Wildcats as 11.5-point underdogs last season.

Kickoff is set for noon ET at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan. The Wildcats are 5.5-point favorites, in the latest Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State odds.

When home-field advantage is taken into consideration, this is almost a two-touchdown correction, since Kansas State was an 11.5-point away favorite when these teams faced off last season. Avery Johnson, a sophomore quarterback with 620 yards and six touchdowns, is an exciting asset for the Wildcats. He is a challenging player for the opposing coaching staff to prepare for because he has also ran for 261 yards on 39 carries.

With 417 yards at 6.1 yards per attempt, junior running back DJ Giddens is also off to a great start. Ollie Gordon II, the Doak Walker Award winner for top running back in college football the previous season, is a well-known running back for Oklahoma State.

But he only managed 42 rushing yards last week, and this season, he is only averaging 3.3 yards per carry.

After losing to Utah 22-3 last week, Oklahoma State rallied with 16 points in a row in the fourth quarter. After being benched early in the game, quarterback Alan Bowman led two touchdown drives that ended with two-point conversions. Leading the Cowboys with 236 rushing yards and three touchdowns is running back Ollie Gordon II, who won the Doak Walker Award as the country's finest running back last year.

Through the first four games of the season, wide receivers Brennan Presley, De'Zhaun Stribling, and Rashod Owens have all accumulated more than 200 receiving yards. In their three games versus FBS teams, the Cowboys have covered the spread twice, while the Wildcats have only done so once. In its last seven games overall, Kansas State has only twice covered the spread.
