#21 Oklahoma Sooners vs Auburn Tigers What to Watch:

On Saturday afternoon, the No. 21 Oklahoma Sooners (3-1) will take on the Auburn Tigers (2-2) in an attempt to win the SEC for the first time. Last week, Oklahoma's first conference game ended in a 25-15 loss to then-No. 6 Tennessee. After losing to Arkansas by ten points last week, Auburn is currently experiencing its own setback. Since Baker Mayfield lead the Sooners to a 35-19 victory in the 2017 Sugar Bowl, these teams have not faced each other. 

On Saturday, kickoff is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. ET at Jordan-Hare Stadium's Pat Dye Field. According to the most recent Auburn vs. Oklahoma odds, Oklahoma is favored by one point.

This concludes a five-game homestand for Auburn, which has yet to play on the road this season. Last week, the Tigers were unable to overcome five turnovers and ended up trailing Arkansas by three points with nine minutes left. Jarquez Hunter, the senior running back, has ran for 340 yards this season, averaging 7.1 yards per carry, including 67 yards last week. 

Earlier this week, true freshman Michael Hawkins Jr. was selected as the Sooners' first-time starter for their first-ever SEC road game. His wide receiver room has also been battling with injuries, and he is playing behind an offensive line that has had nine different starters. 

Oklahoma is 2-5 ATS in its last seven away games, while Auburn has covered the spread in four of its last five SEC games. 

Following head coach Brent Venables' decision to bench Jackson Arnold, Hawkins helped Oklahoma in its defeat to Tennessee last week. Against the Vols, the true freshman ran for 22 yards and completed 11 of 18 throws for 132 yards and a touchdown. In the second half, Hawkins assisted Oklahoma in outscoring Tennessee 12–6. 

This season, Auburn is tied for the most turnovers in the FBS with 14 turnovers. Hank Brown has thrown three picks, and quarterback Payton Thorne has thrown five. With Auburn only 3-6 in its previous nine home games, head coach Hugh Freeze stated that the quarterback position is open going into this matchup.
