#18 Pittsburgh Panthers vs #20 SMU Mustangs What to Watch:

The Week 10 college football schedule has just two ranked games, one of which is in the ACC between the No. 20 SMU Mustangs and the No. 18 Pittsburgh Panthers. Pittsburgh is 7-0 overall and 2-0 away from home, while SMU is 7-1 overall and 3-1 at home. SMU quarterback Kevin Jennings and Pitt quarterback Eli Holstein have been suffering with ailments, but they're both slated to start in this battle that has College Football Playoff implications.

Gerald J. Ford Stadium at SMU will kick off at 8 p.m. ET. According to the most recent SMU vs. Pittsburgh odds, the Mustangs are favored by 7.5 points.

Last week, the Mustangs defeated Duke 28–27, although they were not able to cover as 11-point favorites. Brashard Smith, who ran for 117 yards and two scores, and Roderick Daniels Jr., who had 153 receiving yards and a touchdown, were key contributors for SMU.

The Mustangs have found their rhythm in ACC play after a slower start to the season, going 4-0 up and 3-1 against the spread in five games. In addition to his 321 yards and three touchdowns on the ground, Jennings has passed for 1,594 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Mustangs are fourth in the ACC in both scoring and total defense, therefore SMU seems to have the advantage on defense.

In the meantime, the Panthers are 6-1 against the spread this season and have won four of their five games against Power Four teams by 10 points or less. Holstein, a transfer from Alabama, has thrown for 17 touchdowns and is spreading the ball around. Six players have at least 18 receptions, with Konata Mumpfield (27-473-3) leading the way. Desmond Reid (89-541-3) is the team's top rusher. Pittsburgh defeated Syracuse 41-13 last Thursday, covering as a 5-point favorite, and then had a mini-bye to get ready for this one.
