South Carolina Gamecocks vs Vanderbilt Commodores What to Watch:

When the Vanderbilt Commodores (6-3) visit the South Carolina Gamecocks (5-3) on Saturday afternoon, they will argue for a spot in the College Football Playoff rankings the following week. After defeating Auburn as an 8-point road underdog, Vanderbilt just recorded its fourth unexpected victory of the year. Following an outstanding effort of its own, South Carolina defeated Texas A&M, ranked No. 10 at the time, by a margin of 24 points. Last season, the Gamecocks defeated the Commodores 47–6. The Commodores have listed starting receiver Quincy Skinner Jr. as probable, but defensive lineman Zaylin Wood has been declared out for Vanderbilt.

FirstBank Stadium will kick off on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Vanderbilt vs. South Carolina odds, the Gamecocks are favored by six points.

Including three unexpected victories over league rivals, Vanderbilt has won four of its previous five games. Before losing to then-No. 5 Texas by a field goal, the Commodores defeated then-No. 1 Alabama and Kentucky in consecutive games. Last week, they pulled off their fourth upset of the season, defeating Auburn 17–7.

In addition to rushing for 563 yards and four touchdowns, senior quarterback Diego Pavia has 1,677 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and only three interceptions.

With five of their previous six games covering the spread, the Commodores have been a reliable profit for their wagerers this season. This week, they are accessible as underdogs once more, and nothing points to a disappointing showing on Saturday.

With three consecutive games covering the spread, South Carolina is also on a strong run. The Gamecocks blew out Oklahoma and then-No. 10 Texas A&M after losing 27-25 to then-No. 7 Alabama in mid-October as 21.5-point favorites. Before that game, they were 3-point underdogs against the Aggies, who were alone in first place in the SEC standings.

Senior running back Raheim Sanders ran for 144 yards and two touchdowns against the Aggies, while rookie quarterback LaNorris Sellers had 244 throwing yards and two touchdowns. The Gamecocks are a formidable defensive unit that can slow down Vanderbilt's attack and restrict Pavia in this game. With 15 straight victories, they have also dominated this series.
