TCU Horned Frogs vs Baylor Bears What to Watch:
In their Big 12 clash on Saturday night, the Baylor Bears and TCU Horned Frogs will try to each extend their winning streaks to three games. In Week 9, TCU (5-3) defeated Texas Tech 35-34, while last week, Baylor (4-4) defeated Oklahoma State 38-28. Eight of the previous nine matches have been won by the Horned Frogs, including a 42-17 victory at home in 2023. This season, both clubs are 5-3 against the spread.
Kickoff is set at 8 p.m. ET from Waco's McLane Stadium. According to the most recent Baylor vs. TCU odds, the Bears are 3-point favorites.
The Horned Frogs have won three of their last four games after a 2-2 start to the 2024 season, and they still have a remote shot of making it to the Big 12 Championship Game. They must first defeat their in-state opponents this weekend in Waco. In eight games, Horned Frogs quarterback Josh Hoover has passed for 2,614 yards and 19 touchdowns, along with three more on the ground. Despite throwing two interceptions, Hoover threw for 344 yards and three touchdowns in the team's thrilling victory over Texas Tech last week.
Hoover's top target is senior wide receiver Jack Bech, who leads the team in receiving yards (825) and touchdowns (7).
He has received more than 100 yards in four of the last eight games, including a 200-yard, nine-catch performance against UCF earlier this season. Wide receiver Savion Williams, who has ran for 72 yards in each of TCU's most recent victories and has 436 yards and five touchdowns through the air this season, is another important member of the Horned Frogs' attack.
Baylor might have folded and effectively given up this season after suffering three consecutive losses. However, the Bears have rallied, amassing 97 points in the last two weeks and extending their hopes of making the playoffs. Over the past two weeks, quarterback Sawyer Robertson has passed for 496 total yards and eight touchdowns.
He leads a potent Baylor offense that averages 409.4 yards per game and is in the top half of the Big 12 with 17 passing and four rushing touchdowns this season.
It is surprising to see that neither the Bears' wide receivers nor running backs have rushed or caught passes for more than 400 yards this season. Josh Cameron (25-365-7), Ashtyn Hawkins (24-346-3), and Hal Presley (19-300-3) are Baylor's top receivers, while Bryson Washington (70-380-3) and Dawson Pendergrass (56-362-2) lead the team in rushing. In Week 10, the Bears, who are 3-1 at home this season and have only lost by six to an unbeaten BYU squad, hope to win again at McLane Stadium.
