#1 Texas Longhorns vs #18 Oklahoma Sooners What to Watch:

The No. 1 Texas Longhorns (5-0, 1-0) will play the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners (4-1, 1-1) at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on Saturday in the 2024 Red River Rivalry. In Week 6, both clubs are recovering from a bye. After losing to Tennessee on September 21, the Sooners recovered well and defeated Auburn 27–21 in their most recent game. Quinn Ewers, the Longhorns' primary quarterback, has been sidelined for the past two games due to an abdominal injury, but he is expected to play in this game. In its most recent game, Texas defeated Mississippi State 35–13. Texas has a 63-51-5 lead in the series overall. This season, Oklahoma is 3-2 against the spread and Texas is 4-1.

The game is set to begin at 3:30 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Texas vs. Oklahoma odds, the Longhorns are currently favored by 16.5 points after starting at -14.5.

The Longhorns are a team that is poised to take home a national title. After missing Texas' last two games, Ewers, who is skilled and seasoned, is expected to make a comeback. In just three games in 2024, Ewers has passed for 691 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions.

When Texas acquired former Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Bond in the offseason, it struck gold on the transfer portal. 247Sports ranked the former four-star high school recruit as a five-star transfer, and he hasn't let anyone down in his debut season in Austin.

Bond has caught 20 passes for 364 yards and three touchdowns in five games. He has also gained 51 yards and scored on the ground.

It will be difficult to defeat Oklahoma because they have been among the top defensive teams in NCAA football this season. The Sooners give up 324.2 total yards and 16 points every game. R Mason Thomas, a junior defensive lineman, has been a force for Oklahoma and leads the team with 5.5 sacks going into Saturday.

The Sooners are looking to rookie quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. to provide some offensive spark. After replacing Jackson Arnold, the former four-star recruit has performed admirably. In OU's 27-21 victory over Auburn, Hawkins was reliable in his first career start, throwing for 161 yards and running for 69 yards and a touchdown.
