#3 Texas Longhorns vs #20 Texas A&M Aggies What to Watch:

The No. 20 Texas A&M Aggies (8-3, 5-2) will play the No. 3 Texas Longhorns (10-1, 6-1) in the 2024 Lone Star Showdown on Saturday at Kyle Field, renewing one of college football's most acrimonious rivalries. After Texas A&M joined the SEC and departed the Big 12, this rivalry game was postponed. It will now be played for the first time since 2011. Next week, the victor of this match will advance to the SEC Championship Game. Texas A&M is trying to recover from a 43-41 quadruple overtime loss to Auburn, while Texas is coming off a commanding 31-14 victory over Kentucky.

The Texas Longhorns have won three of the last four meetings and are 76-37-5 in the all-time series.

In College Station, kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Texas vs. Texas A&M odds, the Longhorns are favored by 4.5 points.

Texas' roster is deep and seasoned. The Longhorns gained a number of important players during the offseason, including transfer wide receiver Isaiah Bond, and brought back 15 starters, including quarterback Quinn Ewers, from the squad that advanced to the College Football Playoffs, which featured four teams, last season. Additionally, Texas brought back four starters on what has become arguably college football's greatest offensive line.

Texas has been utterly dominating on defense in 2024. The Horns enter Saturday allowing an average of 12.1 points per game, which is seventh in the nation, and have only given up 17 points or more in two games this season. In terms of passing yards allowed per game (143.5) and total yards allowed per game (247.5), Texas is ranked second in the nation.

In this rivalry game, the Aggies have homefield advantage, and the boisterous Kyle Field crowd will undoubtedly be a factor on Saturday night. Additionally, Texas A&M still has a lot to gain from this game, as the victor will go to the SEC Championship Game the following week. Additionally, a victory would greatly improve the Aggies' resume for the College Football Playoffs.

Because of his dual-threat skills, quarterback Marcel Reed has given the Aggies offense a new dimension. Reed has 1,426 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and three interceptions going into Saturday's game. In addition, he has ran for 6 touchdowns and 441 yards.
