UCLA Bruins vs Washington Huskies What to Watch:
On Friday night, the UCLA Bruins (4-5) and Washington Huskies (5-5) will square off in a Big Ten matchup. Three of the Huskies' previous four games have ended in defeat. They were defeated 35–6 by No. 4 Penn State last week. The Bruins, who have won three straight games, have a different tale. UCLA defeated Iowa 20–17 last Friday. In their last 20 encounters with the Huskies, the Bruins have won 15 of them. On the other hand, Washington has an 11-7-1 record against the spread and has won 19 straight at home.
At 9 p.m. ET, the game will kick off at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium in Seattle, Washington. According to the most recent UCLA vs. Washington odds, the Huskies are 4-point favorites.
Will Rogers, the senior quarterback, plays with excellent timing and anticipation and has a rapid release. Rogers is gaining 2,343 yards and 13 passing touchdowns on 71% of his passes. In 2024, he will have at least 220 passing yards in seven games. This season, Rogers has also had at least two passing touchdowns in four of his games.
Jonah Coleman, a junior running back with seven touchdowns and 6.0 yards per carry, is fourth in the Big Ten in terms of rushing yards (913). In five games, the California native has rushed for 100 yards or more. Coleman has two touchdowns and 104 running yards against USC on November 2.
The Bruins, who rank third in the Big Ten in rush defense (98.1), will need to maintain their strong run defense in this game. Carson Schwesinger, a junior linebacker, will find the ball and create plays. With three sacks, two pass breakups, and two interceptions, Schwesinger leads the club in total tackles (92). Six out of his last seven games have seen him record double-digit tackles.
One person the Bruins will rely on offensively is senior wide receiver Logan Loya. Loya can high-point the football and moves with lightning speed in space. This season, he has twice surpassed 50 receiving yards. He caught five passes for a season-high 94 yards and a touchdown last week against Iowa. With four receiving touchdowns, Loya leads the team as well.
