Utah Utes vs #17 Colorado Buffaloes What to Watch:

When the No. 17 Colorado Buffaloes (7-2, 5-1) visit the Utah Utes (4-5, 1-5) at Folsom Field on Saturday, head coach Deion Sanders and the team hope to extend their winning streak to four games. The Buffs recently defeated Texas Tech 41-27 on the road. Travis Hunter, the Heisman Trophy favorite, maintained his dominance on both sides of the field, and quarterback Shedeur Sanders passed for 291 yards and three touchdowns. The Utes recently suffered a devastating defeat to in-state rival BYU, 22–21.

At 12:00 ET, kickoff will take place in Boulder, Colorado. According to the most recent Colorado vs. Utah odds, the Buffs are 13.5-point favorites.

Although they had hopes of making the College Football Playoffs going into the season, Utah is currently in the middle of a losing streak. Both quarterbacks Cam Rising (leg) and Brandon Rose (leg) are out for the season, and the Utes have dropped their last five games. Although he has been seen warming up with the team prior to the game, quarterback Isaac Wilson is reportedly battling an illness. Positively speaking, Utah has been competitive and has had an opportunity to win every game throughout its losing streak, largely because of an outstanding defense and a potent running attack.

Utah's defense has been among the best in NCAA football, despite the team's offensive struggles.

The Utes give up 17.1 points and 307.4 total yards per game, which puts them first in the Big 12. With an average of 175.0 passing yards per game, Utah has been very strong against the pass, which may help them against Colorado's offensive style that relies heavily on passes.

In their second season under Coach Prime, the Buffs have significantly improved their defensive performance. Colorado has shown success after appointing veteran NFL coach Robert Livingston as its new defensive coordinator. Each game, CU is giving up 367.2 total yards and 22.6 points.

Additionally, Colorado boasts two of the top college football players in Travis Hunter, a two-way standout, and quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Sanders has 2,882 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions going into this game. Hunter has 20 tackles, seven pass breakups, two interceptions, and a forced fumble on defense, and 69 catches for 856 yards and nine touchdowns on offense.
