Utah Utes vs UCF Knights What to Watch:
The Utah Utes (4-7) will play the UCF Knights (4-7) on the road on Friday night in an attempt to end a seven-game losing run. After defeating then-No. 14 Oklahoma State in September, Utah has not won a game since starting the season with four straight victories. Last week, UCF suffered a 31–21 loss at West Virginia, one of seven losses in their last eight games. These schools are meeting for the first time.
At FBC Mortgage Stadium, kickoff is scheduled for Friday at 8 p.m. ET. The most recent UCF vs. Utah odds see UCF favored by 9.5 points.
UCF is preparing for its first home game since the Knights easily defeated Arizona 56–12 in the first week of November. In that game, in which freshman quarterback Dylan Rizk completed 20 of 25 passes for 298 yards and three touchdowns, they easily covered the spread as 6-point favorites. RJ Harvey, the star running back, averaged 8.4 yards per carry for 184 yards and three touchdowns.
With 1,458 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, Harvey has been one of college football's most explosive running backs. Since taking over as the starting quarterback, Rizk has been a spark, recording four touchdown passes and one interception in his last three games.
In its last 14 games, including one in each of its last six away games, Utah has only covered the spread four times.
Before defeating Utah State and then-No. 14 Oklahoma State on the road, Utah began the season with victories at home against Southern Utah and Baylor. Since then, the Utes have dropped seven straight games, five of which were decided by a single possession. Last week, they lost to then-No. 22 Iowa State 31-28 as 6.5-point underdogs, and the Cyclones scored the game-winning touchdown with 1:31 left.
Senior quarterback Luke Bottari completed five of nine throws for fifty-five yards, while rookie quarterback Isaac Wilson completed all eight of his attempts for seventy-four yards. Additionally, Bottari averaged 11.8 yards per carry while rushing four times for 47 yards. In its last eight games, UCF has only covered the spread twice.
