Vanderbilt Commodores vs Kentucky Wildcats What to Watch:

In a surprisingly exciting SEC matchup on Saturday night, the Kentucky Wildcats (3-2) will return from their bye week to take on the resurgent Vanderbilt Commodores (3-2). As a 17.5-point underdog, Kentucky pulled off an upset victory in its most recent game, defeating then-No. 6 Ole Miss 20–17. Last week, Vanderbilt defeated then-No. 1 Alabama as a 23-point underdog, pulling off an even greater upset. Including a 45-28 victory last season, Kentucky has won eight of the previous ten games between these rivals.

At Kroger Field, kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at 7:45 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt odds, the Wildcats are favored by 13.5 points.

In Week 3, Kentucky almost defeated then-No. 1 Georgia, easily covering the 21.5-point spread in a 13-12 defeat. Building on that performance, the Wildcats defeated Ole Miss in Week 5 after dominating Ohio in Week 4. In the victory versus the Rebels, junior quarterback Brock Vandagriff completed 18 of 28 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown.

The Wildcats have had a week to recuperate after their outstanding defensive performance, which saw them limit Ole Miss to only 353 yards. This season, they are ranking 11th nationally in terms of points allowed per game, with 13.4 points.

In addition to covering the spread in six of its last seven games overall, Kentucky has won seven of the last eight encounters between these two teams.

Vanderbilt has been on a similar path to Kentucky; a few weeks ago, it almost pulled off a major upset by forcing then-No. 7 Missouri to double overtime as an 18-point underdog. Before playing Alabama, the Commodores had a week off, but for Vanderbilt supporters, it was a memorable evening. After losing their last 60 games against AP top-five teams, it was their first victory over a top-ranked team.

Diego Pavia, the senior quarterback, ran for 56 yards and completed 16 of 20 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns. Eli Stowers, a tight end who caused Alabama problems all game long, has caught 25 passes for 333 yards and threw a score this season. In nine of their previous 13 games versus Kentucky, the Commodores have covered the spread, and they have done so in five of their previous six games.
