Virginia Cavaliers vs #8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish What to Watch:

On Saturday afternoon, the No. 8 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-1) will take on the Virginia Cavaliers (5-4) in an attempt to continue their winning streak of seven games. After easily defeating Florida State 52-3 last week, Notre Dame is now in the College Football Playoff picture with three games left. At then-No. 18 Pittsburgh, Virginia shocked the odds as a 7-point underdog, winning 24-19 to end a three-game losing streak. For the first time since the 2019 season, the Cavaliers need one more victory to qualify for the bowl.

Notre Dame Stadium will host the game on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Notre Dame vs. Virginia odds, Notre Dame is favored by 23.5 points.

With a seven-game winning streak, Notre Dame has vaulted back into the College Football Playoff picture after losing to Northern Illinois in early September. The Fighting Irish are coming off a 52-3 thumping victory over Florida State, and they have defeated several rated opponents in that time frame. Riley Leonard, the senior quarterback, ran for 70 yards and two touchdowns and had 215 passing yards and a touchdown.

With 1,575 passing yards, 609 rushing yards, and 22 touchdowns this season, Leonard has been causing difficulties for defenses. The Fighting Irish have dominated all four of their ACC opponents this season and have covered the spread in five consecutive games.

Last month's 17-point loss to Clemson was part of Virginia's 5-14 road record.

Last week, Virginia defeated then-No. 18 Pittsburgh as a 7-point underdog, putting on its greatest performance of the year. This season, the Cavaliers have won all four of their road games and are 3-1 overall. Chris Tyree, a former Notre Dame wide receiver, contributed four receptions for 42 yards, while Xavier Brown had two touchdowns in the victory over the Panthers: a 24-yard touchdown catch and a 1-yard touchdown run.

Their opponent, the Notre Dame defense, will be without defensive lineman Howard Cross III, who has four sacks but will not participate in this game because of an ankle injury. The Fighting Irish may be caught anticipating their match versus No. 24 Army, which is scheduled for next week. Virginia has covered in five of its past six games overall and is undefeated against the spread in its last eight away games.
