Tuesday night's MACtion clash between the Central Michigan Chippewas and the Western Michigan Broncos is a crucial Mid-American Conference game for teams hoping to get back into the win column race. Central Michigan lost 37-10 at Toledo last Tuesday, while Western Michigan lost 31-13 at Bowling Green. The Broncos (5-5, 4-2 MAC), who are one game out of first place and have dropped two straight games, are 2-4 away from home this season. They are regarded as longshots at 50-1 to win the MAC, but they still have a chance to go to the conference final game. The Chippewas are 3-2 at home and have dropped five straight games (3-7, 1-5 MAC). The Victory Cannon Trophy will be up for grabs.

Marion Lukes, a senior running back, remains a valuable offensive weapon for the Chippewas. He's run 133 times for 617 yards (4.6 average) and five touchdowns in nine games. He just finished last week's loss at Toledo with 19 carries, 80 yards, and one touchdown.
This season, Lukes has rushed for 100 yards or more twice, notably on October 19, when he ran for 13 carries and 118 yards in a 38-34 loss against Eastern Michigan.
Chris Parker, a junior wide receiver, leads Central Michigan in receptions with 24 for 308 yards (12.8 average) and three touchdowns. He grabbed five catches for 52 yards, including a long of 24 yards, in last week's defeat against Toledo. In a 37-34 victory over Ball State on September 21, he caught five catches for 79 yards (15.8 average) and two touchdowns. On September 7, he had three receptions for 55 yards (18.3 average) and one touchdown in a 52-16 loss against Florida International.
