Wisconsin Badgers vs Iowa Hawkeyes What to Watch:
On Saturday in Iowa, the Wisconsin Badgers and Iowa Hawkeyes will play a Big Ten matchup. Both clubs have identical 3-2 conference play records and are 5-3 overall. Wisconsin has a 49-46-2 lead in the all-time series, although the Hawkeyes have won the previous two meetings between the two teams with the Heartland Trophy at stake.
Kinnick Stadium will host kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET. According to the most recent Iowa vs. Wisconsin odds, the Hawkeyes are favored by three points.
The defense was utterly dominant in the Hawkeyes' 40–14 victory over Northwestern. The Wildcats finished with 163 yards of total offense, three turnovers, and only 43 yards of rushing during the contest.
While Kaleb Johnson spearheaded the offensive effort, linebacker Jay Higgins recorded eight tackles and an interception for the Iowa defense. The standout running back currently leads the Big Ten in both rushing yards (1,144) and rushing touchdowns (16), having ran for 109 yards and three scores in the victory. In this encounter over the past two seasons, the Hawkeyes have covered the spread.
The Nittany Lions ran for 173 yards and held the Badgers to 81 rushing yards in their 28-13 loss to Penn State last week. Tawee Walker was only able to get 59 yards after rushing for 324 yards in his previous two games, but he did score his 10th rushing touchdown of the season. The Wisconsin defense is giving up just 18.9 points and 311.1 yards of offense per game, and the Badgers will be hoping that a strong unit on that side of the ball can wreak havoc on Iowa backup quarterback Brendan Sullivan.
