#2 Georgia Bulldogs vs #4 Alabama Crimson Tide What to Watch:

The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs will host the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday in the most anticipated game of the 2024 collegiate football season thus far. Following a bye last week, both teams are 3-0. Georgia defeated Kentucky 13–12 in its most recent SEC opener, while Alabama, which will play its first conference game of the year, defeated Wisconsin 42–10 in its most recent game. The Bulldogs have won 42 consecutive regular-season games, the greatest run since Oklahoma's 45-game winning streak in the 1950s, while Alabama is 8-1 in their previous nine encounters with Georgia.

Tuscaloosa, Alabama's Bryant-Denny Stadium will host the start at 7:30 p.m. ET. The most recent Georgia vs. Alabama odds

Despite being in his first season as coach in Tuscaloosa, Kalen DeBoer has demonstrated his abilities against highly regarded clubs in other places. When he was at Fresno State, he had a 3-0 ATS record against AP-ranked opponents; at Washington, he had a 7-3-1 ATS record. He is 10-3-1 ATS versus rated opponents and 12-2 straight-up overall. In addition, Georgia is only 6-10-1 ATS since the beginning of the previous season, but the Tide are 11-6 against the spread.

An outstanding defense that has been carried over from Nick Saban's time to DeBoer's, Alabama is limiting opponents to the best third-down conversion rate in the FBS, 16.3%.

As of right now, quarterback Jalen Milroe is only the third SEC player since 2000 to reach 14 total touchdowns in three games. With 13 touchdowns of 20 yards or more this season, the Alabama attack as a whole has the explosiveness that other teams lust after. Despite playing one fewer game than Ole Miss's lead (14), that is the second-highest in FBS.

The Dawgs are on two historic runs in the regular season, but Alabama has lost to Bama in two consecutive SEC Championship Games. Their 42-game winning run in the regular season is the longest since Oklahoma's 1953–57 campaign.

In addition, Georgia's 16-game winning streak on the road is the longest in the last 30 years for any SEC club. Furthermore, despite playing two top-15 ranked teams during this stretch—Florida State and Clemson—Georgia hasn't let up a touchdown in four consecutive games since the Orange Bowl last season, allowing an average of just 5.3 points per game.

Alabama, on the other hand, has shortcomings on both sides of the ball, beginning with the four fumbles the team has already lost this season. Despite playing one fewer game than most other teams since it already had a bye, only nine teams in all of college football have lost more fumbles. Three weeks ago, South Florida ran for more than 200 yards against the Tide, demonstrating their vulnerability on the ground. With both RBs Trevor Etienne and Nate Frazier averaging at least 5.7 yards per game, Georgia can take advantage of Bama through the rushing game.
