North Dakota State Bison vs Colorado Buffaloes What to Watch:

Deion Sanders and the Colorado football team will host the North Dakota State Bison on Thursday to kick off the team's second season under Coach Prime. Despite ending the season on a six-game losing run, Colorado progressed from having just one victory in 2022 to having four victories last year. The Bison, meanwhile, finished 11-4 in the previous season and lost in the FCS Playoffs quarterfinals. According to the FCS Coaches' Poll, North Dakota State is ranked No. 2 going into the 2024 college football season.

The game will kick off from Boulder, Colorado's Folsom Field at 8 p.m. ET. Favorites by 10.5 points are the Buffs.

High-end talent made up a large portion of the Buffs' talent infusion from new players and transfers. Twelve players rated four stars or higher and thirty-seven players rated three stars are among their newcomers for the Class of 2024. WR/CB Travis Hunter and quarterback Shedeur Sanders, however, continue to be the best in Colorado football.

Sanders finished eighth in the FBS in completion percentage (69.3%) and fourth in the Pac-12 in passing touchdowns (27), despite being under constant pressure throughout the season.

In 2024, he shouldn't be targeted as much because the offensive line was one of the main targets of all those new players who were brought in. Hunter, meanwhile, is on this season's Preseason All-American First-Team and was named a Consensus All-American the previous year. Furthermore, CU finished 3-0 in non-conference games last season despite having trouble in conference games.

At the FCS level, the Bison have won nine of the previous thirteen national titles. Polasek, a first-year head coach, served as the offensive coordinator for the 2014 and 2015 championship teams after serving as an offensive assistant for the 2011 and 2012 teams. Miller and Cole Payton, two quarterbacks, are among the many talented players on both sides of the ball that he inherits.

Miller is a preseason FCS All-America candidate and the team's undeniable starter. After rushing for 629 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023 and completing 72% of his throws for 2,688 yards, 19 touchdowns, and four interceptions, he rejoins the Bison. Payton is a superb runner who contributes to the Bison in a manner similar to that of Taysom Hill for the New Orleans Saints. Payton ran for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2023 and passed for 289 yards and three touchdowns.
